KSFG Ltd is the company behind Karrimor SF, a globally recognised military load-carriage brand trusted by professional users worldwide. We are also a major supplier to government defence organisations.
Following recent growth, KSFG is strengthening its internal product and capability function to support future defence programmes and long-term market positioning.
We are now seeking a Head of Product Capability – Military Systems to bring strong end-user insight into our business and help shape the next phase of product development.
Location
Ideally based in the South West, with regular attendance at our Exeter office.
Hybrid working is available by agreement.
The role
This is a senior, hands-on position focused on user-led military product development.
You will act as the internal authority on military backpacks and load-carriage systems, supporting concept creation, technical justification and product direction.
Working closely with senior management, manufacturing and the commercial team, you will help ensure all products remain credible, purposeful and grounded in real operational use.
Key responsibilities

Act as the internal end-user reference for military load carriage
- Find and explore new tender opportunities
- Use your existing network to create conversations

Identify capability gaps and future product opportunities

Develop early-stage product concepts and design intent

Support defence tenders with technical input and justification

Work with the manufacturing team during development

Attend trade shows, supplier visits and customer meetings

Provide structured product feedback to support continuous improvement
Ideal background
-
Former military with hands-on experience using load-carriage systems

Strong understanding of operational equipment requirements

Commercially aware and solutions-focused

Comfortable collaborating with sales, marketing and manufacturing

Willing to travel internationally as required
Salary & package
£45,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
