We are delighted to be supporting a team made up of 2 Ex Royal Marines who will be walking the length of the Orange River in Africa, from source to sea – raising funds Veterans for Wildlife & The Royal Marines Charity.
The team will be led by expedition leader Glen Steyn, an Ex Royal Marine from Johannesburg, South Africa.
The two former Royal Marines will complete the 2200KM completely unaided and unsupported, as they pass through three countries, Lesotho, South Africa and Namibia. Starting in the highlands of Lesotho, the route will follow the river from source to when the river reaches the Atlantic Ocean.
The Orange River is the longest River in South Africa. Rising in the Drakensberg Mountains in Lesotho, the river flows westwards through South Africa to the Atlantic Ocean. The river also forms part of the international border between South Africa and Namibia, as well as South Africa and Lesotho.
The team have chosen their two charities to assist injured colleagues and raise funds for their rehabilitation process. Whilst raising funds to protect the world’s critically endangered species.
